Public Records Act and Brown Act

Carstens, Black & Minteer (CBM) frequently advises clients about the Brown Act and Bagley-Keen Act, commonly known as Open Meetings laws.  CBM regularly utilizes the California Public Records Act and the federal Freedom of Information Act to obtain relevant information for various matters.  All of these laws are intended to ensure governmental agencies at all levels operate transparently and with accountability to the public.
