Sunjana Supekar
Sunjana Supekar joined Carstens, Black & Minteer in 2019 and is passionate about protecting communities and the environment from environmental hazards. She received her Juris Doctorate from the UCLA School of Law in 2019 with specializations in critical race studies, environmental law, and public interest law and policy.
During her time in law school, Sunjana focused on getting real world experience in legal work, completing an externship with the Natural Resources Defense Council, as well as semesters in the Frank G. Wells Environmental Law Clinic and Supreme Court Clinic at UCLA. Sunjana also completed summer clerkships at Wishtoyo Foundation and Earthjustice. In 2018, Sunjana earned the David J. Hayes Environmental Law Scholarship from UCLA.
At UCLA, Sunjana also served as president of the Environmental Law Society, dialectic editor for the UCLA Law Review, and co-chaired the Womyn of Color Collective at UCLA Law and the UCLA Reentry Clinic. Sunjana was admitted to practice in California in 2019. Prior to attending law school, Sunjana earned a B.A. with honors in biology and a minor in anthropology from Oberlin College. She has work experience in the fields of ecology/evolutionary biology as well as statistical consulting for the biomedical research field.
